This meeting will be rescheduled
Dear TFA Community,
The evolving COVID-19 situation is affecting us all in ways that may have been unimaginable a few weeks ago. We are experiencing unprecedented times, in which it becomes clear that the wellbeing of our partners, staff, families and friends is the top priority.
We recognize that a business-as-usual is not possible, both for our partners and TFA. However, the past has shown that difficult times like these may also provide an opportunity to move closer together as a community.
We have taken stock of the situation with the TFA Steering Committee and the Southeast Asia Regional Committee and concluded to reschedule the TFA Annual Meeting, initially planned for 30 June – 2 July 2020. We are still hopeful to hold an in-person meeting in Jakarta as well as an in-person meeting in Sao Paolo later in the year. Clearly the situation remains very fluid and we will be in touch as soon as we have a clearer path forward.
Nonetheless, 2020 remains a critical year for our agenda and technology now gives us a better chance to bring our community(s) together remotely. We are turning our attention to how we can advance specific initiatives and activities virtually over the coming months and will curate a series of interactive dialogues on critical issues, beginning in April:
If you have ideas for virtual events you would like to convene with or through TFA in the next few months, please get in touch with the TFA team.
As disappointed as we all are in having to reschedule the TFA Annual Meeting we are excited to see how far we can advance our discussions virtually in the coming weeks and months. As ever the quality of the outcomes will be dependent on the energy and engagement each of you brings to these discussions!
Thanks for your continued efforts to reduce deforestation.
